In the commercial complex, which will feature the Designer Outlet Algarve and an IKEA store, there will also be a Pingo Doce hypermarket and, in the area of ​​consumer electronics, Worten is already confirmed.

MAR Shopping Algarve Outside“The project is being a commercial success. There is a lot of interest on the part of operators in being part of the complex», reveals Ana Machado, marketing director at IKEA Centers for the European market.

"We are currently in advanced negotiations with other leading brands in the world of fashion, decoration, services and restaurants and we believe that we will reach a 100% occupancy rate by the end of this year", he adds.

The project has a website which, according to IKEA Centres, «allows potential tenants and interested parties to know a little more about the project, as well as the main distinguishing factors that this commercial complex has in the context of the region».

One of the features of MAR Shopping Algarve is a leisure area with 8000 m2, «which will act as a meeting point for all who visit the new shopping complex. More than a shopping venue, the second MAR Shopping in the country (in 2008, the first one opened in Matosinhos), aims to be a meeting point for leisure time with family or friends».

«This huge leisure area will have differentiating fountains, paths and playgrounds, because our goal is for people to pass by and build memories of a perfect day with the family with us», explains Ana Machado.

The new shopping center will have 220 stores and 3.500 parking spaces and represents an investment of 200 million euros for the IKEA Group and should create 3000 direct and indirect jobs.
