Algarve tells Spaniards that the best beaches in Europe are right next door

AF_RTA_an_Madrid_240x320 «Las mejores playas de Europa – Justo allado» is the motto of the new campaign that the Algarve Tourism Region (RTA) is promoting Barcelona and Madrid until May 22nd. This initiative aims to «attract tourists from the neighboring country to the region, making the Algarve the favorite destination for the Spanish public for this summer's vacation».

 

This campaign is present in press, radio, online media and billboard, «focuses on sun and sea, promoting the Algarve as the destination with the best beaches in Europe. The campaign also draws attention to other attractions in the region, such as entertainment, gastronomy and the beauty of its natural landscapes», explains RTA.

The organization intends to “also take advantage of the proximity between the Algarve and the two Spanish cities, which are now just an hour away, thanks to direct flights connecting Faro to Barcelona and Madrid, at prices low cost».

The campaign also reinforces and complements the roadshow “Algarve Encanta” which takes place in Barcelona and Madrid, on the 18th and 19th of May, respectively, for professionals in the sector.

As part of the promotion in Spain, RTA also carries out a brand activation campaign, with an information desk where various videos and promotional materials from the region will be disseminated.

There will be pastimes such as the Wheel of Luck, which visitors can spin and win gifts and the photowall: a setting with a beautiful Algarve beach in front of which visitors are invited to take a Selfie to publish on social media, qualifying for various awards such as experiences and stays in the Algarve.

This action takes place in shopping centers in Barcelona (16th to 18th May) and Madrid (from 19th to 21st May) and will be complemented with advertising in various formats, with images depicting the Algarve.

The Algarve has all the conditions to become the favorite destination for Spaniards in the summer – and beyond – with its idyllic beaches, fantastic weather, tasty cuisine, and all this so close, just an hour away, with air connections regular. We believe that these campaigns will further boost the interest of the Spanish public and that they will help them to choose the Algarve as their future holiday destination.”, says Desidério Silva, President of RTA.
