Start Work_07"Increasingly, we have to work in a network, in partnership, between schools, entities that provide professional training and companies, because this is the best way to promote employment", stressed Madalena Feu, regional delegate of the Employment and Professional Training Institute ( IEFP), this Thursday, at the opening of the “Start Work – Entrepreneurship, Employment and Professional Training Exhibition”, which runs until tomorrow, the 16th, at Portimão Arena.

The official, who confessed that the exhibition "greatly exceeded my expectations", by including 72 stands, "namely with many local companies and neighboring municipalities interested in recruiting", stressed that the invitation to the IEFP to be a partner in this initiative was launched " three or four years ago”, when she herself performed other functions as director of the Portimão Employment Centre.

«It was with great satisfaction and enthusiasm that the IEFP then accepted this invitation from the Portimão Chamber, by the hand of councilor Ana Fazenda», added Madalena Feu. “We wanted to create a great space for information and presentation of the best things done in the municipality of Portimão in terms of employment, training and education, and this was fully achieved”.

Isilda Gomes, mayor of Portimão and herself a former teacher, stressed that “our responsibility as mayors is to do the best we can for our young people”.

Addressing the entrepreneurs and human resources directors present, the mayor urged: "Give our young people quality jobs, because well-trained and qualified young people are halfway to the success of the companies that hire them."

During their visit to this first edition of “Start Work – Entrepreneurship, Employment and Professional Training Exhibition”, dedicated to young people and adults aged 13 and over, the delegation had the opportunity to appreciate both the offer of companies and institutions. that promote professional training, or even in the county's public schools.

In between, on the stage that marks the center of the venue, it was possible to appreciate dance performances, as well as the emotional and emotional performance of young Érica, 12th grade finalist at Escola Secundária Manuel Teixeira Gomes, who sang a song dedicated to Isilda Gomes:

 

The “Start Work – Entrepreneurship, Employment and Professional Training Exhibition” is free and continues today and tomorrow, 15th and 16th, between 10:00 and 19:00, at Portimão Arena.

The "Start Work" brings together 70 companies and public and private institutions in the region, with face-to-face service to visitors, aiming at the promotion and dissemination of job offers and professional internships, programs and measures to support investment, vocational training, normal secondary education and vocational training, and higher education provided by companies and public and private educational institutions, polytechnics and universities in the municipality and region of the Algarve.

Simultaneously, on the stage installed inside the pavilion and in the auditorium (with a capacity for 200 people), initiatives are planned to promote courses taught by the educational institutions represented, workshops and thematic demonstrations and short-term clarification sessions promoted by the companies are scheduled. and institutions present.

This time, the Beta Talk, scheduled for this Saturday, April 16, and will join the “Start Work” program. Starting at 17 pm, in the Alcalar do Portimão Arena room, the conversation will be with two entrepreneurs who, at certain times in their lives, have made their “hobbies” and passions the great inspiration for creating their own businesses.

Beta Talk Portimão will be, as usual, a moment par excellence for exchanging and sharing ideas, this month with Rui Fernandes, co-founder and owner of One Bike – bicycle shop and workshop, and Paulo Bica, founder and current manager of SPIC- Creative Solutions.

“Start Work – Entrepreneurship, Employment and Training Exhibition” is a joint organization of the Municipality of Portimão and IEFP – Institute of Employment and Vocational Training, IP.
