The exhibition “The Municipality of Odemira in the April Revolution (1975/1976), by Constantino Piçarra, will be on display between April 5 and 29, at the Center for the Valorization of Local Culture, in Odemira.

The exhibition, which is part of the commemorations of “April in Odemira”, “is made up of a set of panels that recall the period referring to the constitution of democratic local power, from the perspective of the political evolution of the country, the District of

The exhibition is divided into three approaches: local power on the eve of April 1974 / municipalities in the revolution / 1976 elections and local democracy.

Constantino Piçarra was born in Vila de Frades in 1958. He has a degree in History from Universidade Clássica de Lisboa, a Master's Degree in History of the XNUMXth Century from Universidade Nova de Lisboa and a researcher at the Institute of Contemporary History of this university. He is director of the Municipal Library of Almodôvar and is a secondary school teacher.

The exhibition can be visited from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 am and 17:00 pm, in the new cultural space of Odemira, located in the building of the former GNR facilities, in Praça José Maria Lopes Falcão.
