The PSD/Algarve has just expressed, in a statement, its "deep perplexity" at the fact that, at yesterday's meeting between the Minister of Health and the Intermunicipal Community of Algarve (AMAL), "only deputies elected by the constituency of Faro to the Assembly of the Republic who were part of the PS list».

"All the other deputies elected by that circle, respectively from the PSD, CDS, PCP and Left Bloc, were not present", the Algarve Social Democrats affirming that at least "the PSD deputies were not invited to be present" .

Therefore, the PSD/Algarve demands "explanations to the Government" and accuses the Socialist Party of "instrumentalization", for allegedly promoting "meetings with plural and democratic institutions with representatives of the various party colors, such as AMAL, where they only invite them to be present the deputies elected by the PS».

The malaise of Social Democrat deputies had already been felt yesterday, when parliamentarian Cristóvão Norte commented on the photo of the meeting posted by Rui André, vice president of AMAL, mayor of Monchique and mayor of the PSD, on his wall Facebook staff, saying “In what capacity has AMAL invited only PS deputies to be present? It's unbelievable".

However, Rui André himself devalues the case, as he was contacted last night by Sul Informação, explained that "the PS deputies were at the meeting with the minister only because they were part of the delegation". Even so, the social-democratic mayor of Monchique admits that “the two PS deputies were seated in a very prominent position at the table”.

In fact, as can be seen in the photo above, António Eusébio and Luís Graça, the two socialist parliamentarians from the Algarve, sat next to Rui André, vice president of AMAL, and even before councilor João Rodrigues, who represented the president of the Town Hall of Vila Real de Santo António.

Who is amazed by this controversy is Jorge Botelho, the socialist mayor of Tavira who is also president of AMAL.

«For the meeting between AMAL and the Minister, only the 16 mayors of the Algarve were invited, no one else. From AMAL, only these 16 invitations followed, not one more», he guaranteed, in statements to Sul Informação.

So how did the socialist deputies show up at the meeting? «The minister brought with him an entourage, which had already been in the CHA board of directors inauguration ceremony, in the hospital of Faro. The two deputies were part of this delegation, but also many other people, such as the secretary of state, the presidents of the Alentejo and North Lisbon Hospital Centers, the president of the ARS, interim directors of the public health administration. at the meeting», explained Jorge Botelho.

“The deputies showed up and were not put on the street. There were places to sit and sat, as did all the other members of the entourage. We don't put anyone on the street!”, stressed the AMAL president.

Jorge Botelho he concludes: "If deputies from other parties, namely the PSD, had appeared, not least because subjects were being discussed that were of interest to all the Algarveans, they would have entered the meeting and would have been sitting at the table, like everyone else."

The issue is that, apart from António Eusébio and Luís Graça, deputies elected by the PS, no other parliamentarian from the Algarve participated in the visit of the Health minister to the Algarve, despite the importance of what was being discussed and announced.
