The transfer of knowledge from universities to fisheries and aquaculture and the launch of the MAR 2020 program measures, aimed at aquaculture and innovation, are the main focus of this visit.

On the same day, the Minister of the Sea will meet with AMAL – Algarve Intermunicipal Community, to debate with the mayors of the 16 municipalities on decentralization, Maritime policies and the proximity of municipal intervention in the domains of ports and riverfronts .

On Friday, the day will be dedicated to companies, “making it happen” in the Economy of the Sea, with work visits to companies in the sector and innovative projects.

Thus, minister Ana Paula Vitorino is planning a visit to Sparos, a spinoff company of the University of Algarve, feed for aquaculture, to Sun Concept, a company that produced a prototype of a solar energy vessel, to Conserveira do Sul, a canning and canning company. fish patés, with a strong focus on exports, and Nauiber, a company that builds recreational and fishing boats in Vila Real de Santo António.

The visit will end with a working meeting with the mayor of Vila Real de Santo António, on the redevelopment of the Vilarealense riverfront.
