It wasn't just in Lisbon that hail today left the landscape white. In the interior of the municipality of Loulé, at around 14 pm, there was also a strong volley, as documented by the photos, shared by the website Meteofontes and by Eva von Rosen, who at the time was driving along a road in the Benafim and Ribeira de Algibre area. .
Bruno Gonçalves, from Meteophons website, explained to Sul Informação that, around 14:00, there was «a more intense cell» that formed in this area of the municipality of Loulé and which, associated with the cold air, caused hailstorms.
Although there is no exact data on the most affected area, an amateur station located in Santa Bárbara de Nexe, not far away, indicates at that time 9 mm of accumulated rainfall.
As far as it was possible to ascertain, the strong hailstorm did not cause any damage.
Bruno Gonçalves adds that tomorrow weather forecasts indicate that «there is still a possibility of showers, thunderstorm and hail'. «Spring is starting well…», he concluded.
