The female senior team of Grupo Desportivo e Cultural (GDC) de Machados ensured the Algarve Futsal Cup for the second consecutive year, by beating Silves Futebol Clube in the final of the competition, played at the Pavilhão Municipal de Loulé.
Athletes from GDC dos Machados join this title with that of vice-champion of the District Women's Futsal Championship.
Two achievements that led the City Council of São Brás de Alportel to approve, last week, a vote of praise, addressed to the entire work team - managers, technical team and athletes -, «which intends to praise the strong commitment of the community in sports training'.
The municipality emphasizes the commitment to the club's youth training, namely the constitution of a Junior Women's Futsal team, which led it to increase financial support to the club, «thus ensuring greater competitive capacity and the growth of this project within the Grupo Desportivo and Cultural of Machados».
This is the fourth Algarve Cup guaranteed by the Machados footballers in five years.
