football clubArmacenenses continue to lead the AF Algarve District Football Championship, after having received and defeated Ferreiras – who were practically out of the fight for the title – by 2-0. Quarteirense may also have said “goodbye” to the promotion, as they lost against Esperança de Lagos and is already seven points behind the first ranked team.

In Armação de Pêra's game, after Ferreiras was the first team to create danger, Armacenenses took advantage, before the break, by Mika. The striker scored twice in the second half, converting a penalty, and made the final result (2-0).

Em Faro, Lagoa suffered but beat Culatrense by 2-3, and keep the pressure on Armacenenses, who next week visit Quarteirense.

That Quarteirense – Armacenenses could be one of the games of the year, but the team from Quarteira lost this weekend against Esperança de Lagos by 3-2 and let the leader flee.

The 23rd round also had a Farense derby. O Faro and Benfica received and won the 11 Esperanças by 2-0, with two goals from Totti, who was the hero of the game.

At the bottom of the table, there were also surprises. Odiáxere, last classified, received and won the Immortal 3-1, in what was only the second victory of the team from the municipality of Lagos in the championship.
