There were 80 meters of folar, but quickly “disappeared”, such was the demand. The Kubidoce pastry shop, in partnership with the City Council and the Parish Council of Olhão and with the support of the Makro store in Faro, who provided the ingredients, returned to distributing traditional Algarve follars to the population, among which some specialties of the house, and even the four-legged friends were not forgotten.
Once again, a symbolic amount was charged per slice of cake, an amount that reverted to ADAPO - Association for the Defense of Animals and Plants of Olhão. And there was even a special dog folar.
This year, the big news was, according to Filipe Martins, from Kubidoce, «the sweet potato folar, with almonds». «But we also have fig, orange and almonds, one with the three types of chocolate, the traditional one, the one with honey and olive oil and the one from the mountain. In all, we have six varieties», said Filipe Martins.
“It's another successful year. This time, we managed to organize things better, so that there is not so much confusion», he added. The wiretaps from the CNE 554 Group of Olhão contributed greatly to this, helping to set up the tables, distribute the cake and collect funds for ADAPO.
Right next door, the association, with the support of the «Patas ao Ar» store, set up a small stand, where, in addition to products for pets, including small dog bells, it showed puppies looking for an owner. In the end, many of the little dogs had found a new home.
