TIFAA Albufeira 2016_4The TIFAA – International Adapted Football Tournament brought together 350 people at the Albufeira Municipal Stadium, on the 19th of March. it just happened, but the organization is already thinking about the next edition which, due to the success of 2016, should be extended to new countries.

This year, the international contingent traveled from the Netherlands, home country of three of the eight teams in competition. All the others were Portuguese, and came from different parts of the country.

In the end, the victory smiled to the selection of Gaia, with the UDI of Setúbal taking second place. The 3rd and 4th place went to AAPACDM of Faro and to the Santa Casa da Misericórdia in Albufeira.

Also in competition was the APEXA team and the Dutch CJVV A, CJVV B, VV Ijsselmeervogels.
This was an authentic festival of adapted football, which involved athletes, technical teams, volunteers and the organization's staff. The mayor of Albufeira Carlos Silva e Sousa also made a point of being present.

"This is an excellent opportunity to promote equal opportunities in the access to sport for people with disabilities, as well as to promote interaction between athletes from different regions and different countries, making known an inclusive city with traditions established in the art of good welcome those who visit us», considered the mayor.

Hence the organization assumes the objective of extending the race to more nationalities in 2017.

TIFAA is an international tournament that aims to provide people with physical and mental disabilities the opportunity to participate in an adapted sporting activity, giving them the opportunity to socialize with participants from various parts of the country and different nationalities.
