The merchants of Vila Real de Santo António expect to receive thousands of visitors from neighboring Spain, on Sunday, the day when a new edition of the «Sunday Stock Out» event will be promoted in the historic city centre, between 10 am and 30 pm.
The 2nd edition of this monthly event of sales and opportunities coincides with Andalusia Day, which raises the expectations of entrepreneurs and the Chamber of VRSA, which organizes the event, in terms of the number of Spanish consumers who may cross the border.
In this event, also nicknamed «white sunday», by «following the principles of Black Friday», the merchants in the downtown area of the city will «present products with additional sales and discounts and will be able to freely exhibit their items abroad, being exempt from paying additional fees», according to the municipality of Vilarealense.
At the same time, at Praça Marquês de Pombal, a Winter Crafts Show will take place, where dozens of artisans will put on sale products such as basketwork, empreita, regional cakes, dried fruits, traditional handicrafts, among other items.
All this with a white “backdrop”, as participating stores and restaurants will be identified with a white logo and will use outdoor furniture of the same color. “In addition, the stores will be decorated with promotional materials where white – already used in the standardization of VRSA street furniture – will be the predominant color”, added the Chamber of VRSA.
The «Sunday Stock Out» is promoted on the last Sunday of each month and «has as its main target the hundreds of Spanish visitors who seek Vila Real de Santo António at the weekend».
