The Vila do Bispo Council signed two sponsorship contracts, which aim to support the athletes João Lourenço and Nuno Rocha in the sporting commitments they will have throughout 2016.
Motocross rider João Lourenço will benefit from support of 5 thousand euros. Mountain bike rider Nuno Rocha is supported through the Humanitarian Association of Voluntary Firefighters of Vila do Bispo, which he represents, who will receive a grant of one thousand euros. Both protocols were signed this Monday.
In 2016, João Lourenço will be the official driver of the French brand Sherco Motorcycles, representing the Portuguese importer. «In this sporting season, the pilot will participate in the National Enduro Championships (elite class) and Super Enduro (prestige class), as well as in the World Enduro Championship. Participating in the Spanish Enduro Championship is another of the athlete's goals for 2016», according to the Vila do Bispo Chamber.
Last year, the athlete from Vilabispense was runner-up in the Open Class, 4th in the Prestige Class, and 2nd in the individual level and 8th in teams in the Six Days of Enduro international competition.
For Adelino Soares, mayor of Vila do Bispo, the amount allocated to João Lourenço «represents a strong contribution towards the co-payment of the pilot's expenses and will contribute to improving the conditions for his participation in the competitions that will take place throughout the year».
In return for this support, the athlete is obliged to insert the city's logo or other promotional elements on their motorcycles, support vehicles and equipment used during the competitions, to make reference to the City Council's sponsorship in dissemination actions on the internet, and also , the insertion of the logo or mention of the sponsorship in all communication actions with the media.
In the case of Nuno Rocha, support is given through the humanitarian association of Firefighters. In 2016, Nuno Rocha intends to participate in the VI European Police and Fire Fighting Games, in regional and national duathlon championship events and in the regional BTT XCO and XCM championship.
Also here, the athlete is obliged to insert the city's logo on the bicycle, as well as make reference to support in communication actions with the media.
