Manuel Teixeira Gomes, from jeans e t-shirt, and his beloved Belmira, in shorts, very young, leave the Teixeira Gomes Secondary School hand in hand or embrace passionately at the door of Casa Teixeira Gomes.
The repetition of the name of Manuel Teixeira Gomes is deliberate. Because that apparent time travel was the way chosen by the students of the PTG Course and Computer Systems Programming (12th year), at the Secondary School of Portimão, whose patron is the writer and former President of the Republic, to celebrate Valentine's Day, which today is marked.
The students took two photos of Manuel and Belmira, still very young, and placed them in current scenarios and bodies, in places that have to do with the writer's memory that lasts in his hometown of Portimão.
But the young creatives didn't stop there, explains Helena Tapadinhas, the librarian teacher who coordinated the activity. «They took two works by Teixeira Gomes, «Agosto Azul» and «Gente Singular», and chose four phrases about Love, which they placed on as many illustrated postcards with the images created».
“At school, everyone has postcards and there is a mailbox where messages of love and friendship are deposited, which will be delivered by postmen and MTG desks, on Monday”, adds the teacher.
An original way to celebrate Valentine's Day, recalling one of the most beautiful love stories in the city of Portimão and celebrating, at the same time, the Portuguese language.
