A children's parade and masked balls are Tavira's proposals for the Carnival celebrations. The Chamber guarantees that “joy will fill the center of the city”, between February 5th and 9th. 

On the 5th, at 10:00 am, in Praça da República, the schools get together and around 1300 children from the pre-school and 1st Cycle of public and private basic education, march through the square masked with the most various costumes. The theme is free and the parade appeals "to creativity and individual imagination", says the municipality.

With the participation of the City Council, the Parish Council and the Lado a Lado Project, the evening activities will take place in the Ribeira market, at 22 pm, with masked balls, with musical performances on February 00th and 5th. “Duo Inovação”, on the 6th, by Arcílio Palma and, on the day of Sérgio Conceição.

The carnival celebrations end on February 13th, at 22 pm, at Mercado da Ribeira, with the Baile da Pinha.
