Albufeira Floods (69)The special credit lines for merchants in Albufeira who were affected by the storm on November 1st «will be announced in the next few days» and will be able to be activated «in the short term», assured the PS/Algarve, in a press release.

«It was possible with the Ministry of Economy, particularly those responsible for tourism and commerce, with the permanent collaboration of the person responsible for the Internal Administration, to format credit lines whose eligibility conditions respond to the profile of the companies that suffered losses and intended to face the damage caused by bad weather in Albufeira, on local economic activities», announced the socialists.

Albufeira Floods (58)The creation of this support was proposed by the deputies of the Socialist Party elected by the Algarve – António Eusébio, Luís Graça, Fernando Anastácio and Ana Passos -, after contacts with business associations.

The credit lines were created in the weeks after the flood, but "unfortunately, they did not have any sequence during the PSD/CDS Government".

«The deputies of the Socialist Party elected by the Algarve have been following the situation since the first day, both with injured parties and associations representing different sectors of activity., meeting with the Associação Portuguesa de Seguros, taking steps with the previous Government and City Council, as well as with the current Government, particularly with those responsible for the Economy, Tourism and Commerce and the Internal Administration”, assured the PS/Algarve, in your statement.

In the same document, the socialists launched criticisms of the Albufeira Chamber, which they accused of being at fault with the survey of the damage caused by the floods, an allegation that the president of the municipality of Albufeira refutes, saying that he was waiting for the Government to schedule a meeting to show him the data collected, a meeting that was scheduled for Thursday.
