Show tourism_Algarve Nature Week_9The experiences of contact with nature that the Algarve provides will once again be in the spotlight in another edition of the Algarve Nature Week, which will run from 13 to 22 May.

In this second edition of the event, the Nature Tourism Exhibition, a meeting point between the public and companies in the sector, will take place at Passeio das Dunas, in Quarteira, between the 13th and 15th of May.

Diving and surfing baptisms, interaction with donkeys and horses, bird and cetacean observation, bicycle tours, mountain hikes and boat trips along the Ria Formosa and through the caves and caves of the region are examples of activities available to visitors, which they can be enjoyed on the three days that the event lasts and on the week that follows. On the 13th, the activities are free.

So far, 55 exhibitors have already guaranteed their presence, whose offer can be consulted online, «becoming available from March all the offers of outdoor activities of the event that celebrates nature in the Algarve», according to the organization, in charge of the Algarve Tourism Region (RTA) and the Loulé Council.

The 2016 edition of Algarve Nature Week will have «a handful of news». One of them is the holding of the event in Loulé, something that had already been announced during the 1st edition, which took place in Faro.

But the news does not stop there. "This year there is another day of event and an eco half marathon, which joins the extensive outdoor entertainment program," announced the organization. There will also be a renewed focus on the Algarve Nature Week image and on its online presence, not only through the official website, but also from social networks Facebook e Instagram, «to encourage the sharing of the event and the natural environment of the Algarve through photography».

"The participation in the initiative was also opened to travel agencies, which will provide more complete offers of experiences that also include packages with accommodation," he added.

Dolphins«If the numbers of the first edition of Algarve Nature Week leave no room for doubt, with 130 outdoor experiences, 6000 visitors and 60 exhibitors at the Nature Show, this year, with all these new features, the event will have doubled its success and the Algarve will be the center of attention for nature lovers for ten days», believes the president of RTA Desidério Silva.

Nature tourism will be joined by a sporting aspect. The Vilamoura Eco Half Marathon, to be held on May 14, will appear as part of the Algarve Nature Week and will depart from the Passeio das Dunas de Quarteira, to which the athletes will return, when the winners of the second edition of the competition are known.

Simultaneously, in the same place and in the surroundings of the Mostra de Natureza, the event for children «Playing at Athletics» will take place from 10 am, organized in collaboration with the Sports Center of Quarteira.

«This partnership between RTA, the Municipality of Loulé and the organization of the Half Marathon is yet another reason to attract the Algarve Nature Week, bringing a greater number of visitors and athletes to the privileged location of the exhibition. I remember that in 2015 more than 1000 people participated in the competition. This is an excellent way of highlighting the characteristics of the Algarve for sport and nature tourism», considered the president of RTA Desidério Silva.

The second edition of Algarve Nature Week is organized by RTA, in partnership with the Municipality of Loulé, Turismo de Portugal, Algarve Tourism Association, Quarteira Parish Council, Inframoura, General Directorate of School Establishments (DGEstE), and Associations of Vicentina, In Loco and Terras do Baixo Guadiana Local Development.
