GNR_4An illegal nursing home located in Cruz da Assumada, in Loulé, was closed this Wednesday by the GNR. In the house that was the target of the GNR action, 11 men and two women were living, aged between 69 and 87 years, “in precarious conditions”, who still had to share the space with 24 dogs. The alleged manager of the space, a 43-year-old woman, was identified.

After the "immediate closing" of the home, nine of its inhabitants were institutionalized in other homes and four were taken in by the families.

The operation was motivated by a complaint of ill-treatment and triggered by the GNR, in coordination with Social Security technicians from Faro.

The inspection was also attended by elements of the Research and Support Center for Specific Victims (NIAVE) of the GNR of Faro, of the Special Programs Nucleus of the GNR of Loulé and of the Environmental Protection Team of the GNR of Loulé. The investigation was conducted by the 1st Section of the Public Ministry of DIAP – Loulé.
