GNRA complaint made by a minor, following a family dispute, resulted in the arrest of a man in Lagoa, for crimes of illegal possession of weapons and drug trafficking.

A 49-gauge shotgun (with 12 rounds), a 12 mm pistol (with 6.35 rounds) and 2 grams of cannabis leaves were found in the 427-year-old alleged drug dealer's house.

This was one of 18 arrests made by GNR over the weekend, in various places in the Algarve. And if the majority were related to driving under the influence of alcohol, there were others for more serious crimes, namely domestic violence.

In addition to the man caught in Lagoa, a 56-year-old man was arrested in Quarteira, accused of domestic violence, following a complaint filed by his 54-year-old wife. The suspect was also accused of possessing a prohibited weapon, for having a converted alarm pistol, with five ammunition.

The GNR also carried out several road inspection operations (Operation Stop) in different locations in the region, in which it detained 11 drivers under the influence of alcohol, who had blood alcohol rates (BAC) between 1,28 and 2,87 grams per liter and three people driving without a license. Two other men were arrested, one for libel, slander and insult and the other for disobedience.

In the late afternoon of Sunday, the GNR of Albufeira detained three foreign citizens, near a disco, who were in the country in an illegal situation.
