poster IGLOO_OlhaoThe multidisciplinary show «Igloo» will make the birds of the Ria Formosa better known and allow students from the 1st cycle of schools in the municipality of Olhão to assume the leading role. The project by DeVIR/CAPA – Algarve Performing Arts Center will be presented at the Municipal Auditorium on February 24th and 25th, at 10:30 and 14:00.

«Iglo» is a show/workshop where participants have the opportunity to meet many species of birds from the Ria Formosa, while at the same time understanding how to build a show.

«Instead of proposing a finished show, “Igloo” challenges the participants to assemble it step by step: while some try to be luminotechnicians, others accept the challenge of building part of the soundtrack; still others take responsibility for creating the scenography. Nobody is left out, everyone has the task of idealizing the Igloo, that magical bird that we all carry inside of us», describes the Chamber of Olhão.

Over 60 minutes, the little ones will help put together a dance, theater, animation and video show, based on birds «to talk about people, the present, migrations and the preservation of natural resources, with an emphasis on the importance of of the Ria Formosa'.

“Sharing, solidarity, cooperation, differences, are words that are heard and experienced by everyone”, stresses the municipality.

Students who participate in the initiative will also take part of the show with them, as they will have the opportunity to build a bird-shaped invitation using the origami technique, to offer to parents, «using maps that suggest two walking tours along the Ria Formosa , an opportunity to see birds in their natural habitat».
