Albufeira will inaugurate, next Saturday, at 15:30 pm, two new spaces for outdoor gymnastics: the “Fitness Park da Alfarrobeira”, located in Parque da Alfarrobeira (Quinta do Infante), and the “Fitness Park de Albufeira”, located in the “Espaço Verde” at the entrance to the city (next to the Albufeira Health Centre).
In these two locations, which can now be used by the public, 16 fitness machines were installed, which cost the Municipality of Albufeira close to 24 thousand euros.
For the mayor Carlos Silva e Sousa, the creation of these new spaces aims to encourage the population to adopt healthy lifestyles. “Physical activity improves the quality of life at all ages. The benefits are obvious: better balance, more strength, better psychomotor coordination, flexibility and endurance».
In addition, the mayor adds that "an active life brings greater possibilities to create new friendships, to maintain ties with the community and to contact people of all ages, thus reducing loneliness and social exclusion" .
The meeting point for the symbolic opening ceremonies will be at the “Fitness Park in Albufeira” and, at 16 pm, the delegation will proceed to the “Fitness Park da Alfarrobeira”.
