Albufeira hosted the District Championship and the Acrobatic Gymnastics Initiation Tournament, tests that served to find the champions of the Algarve, as well as to select the teams/groups that will represent the region in the national championship, which will take place in March, in Cascais .
About 250 athletes, divided by 99 teams of two or three elements, competed in the Female Pairs, Male Pairs, Mixed Pairs and Female Trios categories.
The host team, from Acro Imortal BC, from the immortal Basket Club, from Albufeira, won the team competition and saw their athletes win the male and female pairs categories. In female groups (trio), it was Louletano Sports Club that stood out (see Championship and Tournament classifications below).
The competition day resulted from a joint organization of the Algarve Gymnastics Association and Acro Immortal BC. This was the first time that Albufeira hosted these tests.
