Vila do Bispo shows the potential of its heritage in just one day

The Secretary of State for the Environment José Mendes will close the «I Seminar Potentialities of a Municipality/Vila do Bispo in a single day…», which takes place on Monday, the 18th, in the auditorium of the Cultural Center of that location in Costa Vicentina.

Composed of four panels, this Seminar aims to promote the municipality of Vila do Bispo, through the dissemination of the natural, cultural and heritage potential that differentiate its territory.

Thus, in the first panel, at 10:00 am, moderated by Alexandra Gonçalves, regional director of Culture, the Historical and Cultural Heritage (by Artur de Jesus, from Vila do Bispo Chamber), Habitat and Flora (Carla Cabrita, from Walkin) will be addressed 'Sagres) and the Archaeological Map of Vila do Bispo (Ricardo Soares, from the Vila do Bispo Chamber, and Fernando Pimenta, researcher of Archaeoastronomy).

The second panel, which begins at 11:45 am, with André Matoso, chairman of the Board of Directors of Sociedade Polis Litoral Sudoeste as moderator, will talk about Beaches (Cláudio Machado, from Vila do Bispo Council), Surf (Marta Mealha, from Associação de Escolas Costa Vicentina Surf) and Trails, Itineraries and Routes (José Granja, Rota Vicentina).

In the afternoon, panel number three, moderated by Valentina Calixto, director of the Algarve Department of the Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests, will have as themes Birds and Ornithological Tourism (Alexandra Lopes, from SPEA), Os Temporários, the Vincentian Triops and the Life Charcos Project (Margarida Cristo, from UAlg, and Artur Lagartinho, from LPN), and also Marine Biology (Sara Magalhães, from the company Mar Ilimitado).

The last panel, which will be moderated by Commander Augusto Salgado, from the Naval School of the Portuguese Navy/Naval Research Center, will focus on the Archaeological Research of the University of Algarve in the municipality (Nuno Bicho, from UAlg), Geology and Paleontology ( Beatriz Oliveira) and Underwater Archeology (Jorge Russo, from the Naval Research Center).

After the debate, there will be a closing session, scheduled for 18:00, with the presence of the president of the Chamber Adelino Soares and the Assistant Secretary of State for the Environment.

The seminar is part of the commemorations of the Municipal Holiday of Vila do Bispo.
