David Santos elected president of the PSD/Algarve, Carlos Martins returns to regional politics

David Santos was elected president of the PSD Algarve in the electoral act for the district bodies that took place in all the regional council sections this Saturday, January 30th.

With an indisputable vote, more than 90% of the votes cast, the PSD vice-president in the Algarve thus assumes the destiny of the District Political Commission, succeeding Luís Gomes, who had reached the three-term limitation imposed by the Party's statutes. .

These elections also mark the return of Carlos Neves Martins, current president of the Centro Hospitalar de Lisboa Norte, to regional party struggles, as he was elected president of the District Jurisdiction Council.

Over the past few weeks, David Santos has held presentation, clarification and debate sessions with PSD militants in the Party's sections in every municipality in the Algarve. In these moments, he had the opportunity to present his strategy for the PSD Algarve, which has «as its main objective the municipal elections of 2017».

In addition to the election of the District Political Commission, the remaining bodies of the PSD in the Algarve were also elected. The District Assembly will be headed by Isabel Soares, the District Jurisdiction Council will be chaired by Carlos Neves Martins and the District Financial Audit Council by Rui Araújo.
