There are candidates for opposition candidates, but none has yet decided whether to run for it and will face António Eusébio in the elections for the presidency of the Algarve Federation of the PS.
Former deputy Miguel Freitas and the mayor of Olhão António Miguel Pina do not hide their willingness to move forward, but only reveal whether or not they will present a list after the internal debate that is currently underway has been concluded, and depending on than leaving there. “My candidacy is a hypothesis. I think that, with the PS in power, the structure of the Algarve has even more obligations, which involve demanding and fighting for what are the main flags of the Algarve, even if this causes some bitterness and clashes with the national leaders. I'm afraid that, with the current leadership, this will not happen," said the mayor from Olhão, in an interview with Sul Informação.
Certain is the re-candidacy of António Eusébio, elected as a deputy in the last Legislative Elections, and currently representing the Algarve in the Assembly of the Republic. Eusébio has already announced that he will present a list, in a letter addressed to the Algarve's militants of the PS.
