According to the Pinheiro Rosa Schools Group, “modern societies demand more enlightened, more critical and more involved citizens, but no one is born taught. It is (also) at school that one learns to contribute to building the world in which we want to live».

Therefore, «with the citizenship week, the intention is to show what is already being done in the Pinheiro Rosa Schools Grouping and to help to open the horizons in what concerns an active citizenship».

On the last day of the week, the international project “Network of democratic citizenship schools” will be launched, which aims to create a European reference scale that measures the degree of participation of different members of the community in the management of the School and proposes actions to be developed. , so that this participation becomes more and more effective».

Citizen Week began on Friday, the 8th, with the beginning of the electoral campaign for the Youth Parliament and with the party “A special day for unique workers”, in honor of the employees of the Schools Group, with singer César Matoso and the oriental dance dancer Telma Silva, n.an organization of the class of the Professional Event Organization course.

This Monday, the 11th, the construction of the mural “How can there be more participation in our school” will begin, in which the contributions of the school community will be used in the project “network of democratic citizenship school".

On Tuesday 12th, at 11:35 am, there will be a session on “International Mobility for Youth”, organized by the cooperative ECOS. At 14:30 pm, a debate begins with the Algarve deputy José Carlos Barros, in an organization of the Youth Parliament.

The following day, Wednesday, January 13, the exhibition “Projetos de Cidadania na AEPROSA” opens.

On Thursday the 14th, at 9:30 am, there will be a session on “Violence in a school context” (PES/APAV organization).

At 12:25 pm, “Portugal is not Greece! (a portrait of Greece in the year 5 AD – after the Troika)», a vision of how Greek society was organized after the intervention of the troika. The community networks that have been created, the difficulties experienced by “normal people”, the challenges they face and the open wounds….what you don't see on TV news…

Finally, on Friday 15, between 10 am and 14 pm, the election of deputies for the Youth Parliament will take place, while at 00:14 pm the presentation of the project will take place “Network of Democratic Citizenship Schools”, after which the results of the vote in the Youth Parliament were presented.
