APAVT congressThe 41st Annual Congress of the Portuguese Association of Travel Agencies (APVT), which starts today and runs until Sunday, December 6, brings hundreds of professionals from the various sectors of the area of ​​the Algarve to the Palácio de Congressos do Algarve, in Salgados, Albufeira. tourism activity to discuss the future of the sector and create synergies.

Under the theme "Sharing the Future", the 41st edition of an event that is considered by the press and industry in general as the main forum for national tourism debate, will be attended by distinguished speakers and experts in the areas of economy and tourism that integrate different panels, among them, “The Challenges and Responsibility of being Portuguese”, “Shared Economy: Reality and Challenges”, “The Future of TAP”, “The Future of Air Transport”, “Algarve: a Debate on the Future ”, “Tourist Distribution: Vision of the Future” and “The Portuguese”.

In the opening session, scheduled for 16:30 pm today, Thursday, the highlights were the interventions of Carlos Silva e Sousa, mayor of Albufeira, and Ana Mendes Godinho, the new secretary of State for Tourism.

The main objective of the initiative is, according to the organization, "to give participants the opportunity to meet and discuss issues of high interest to Portuguese Tourism and present a set of topics that can contribute to sharing experiences and developing new strategies for the activity" .

This objective will be complemented with a tourism exhibition, where several regional and national entities will exhibit and promote their products, generating business and partnerships. Albufeira is represented by nine companies in the municipality and by a shared service desk between the municipality and APAL - Albufeira Promotion Agency.

As part of the congress, Mayor Carlos Silva e Sousa received this morning ambassadors from Latin America, at the Salão Nobre Paços do Concelho. The mayor presented his greetings to the delegation and accompanied a guided tour of the city's historic area.
