The Portuguese driver finished the eighth and final race of the National Rally in second place, which was enough to secure the title.

The Algarve rally served as the “black” for the pairs José Pedro Fontes/Miguel Ramalho (Citroen DS3 R5) and Ricardo Moura/António Costa (Ford Fiesta R5), who entered the last race of the season separated by just 9,5 points , a difference that left everything open (the victory was worth 25 points).

Moura, who has won the title of national champion three times, did what he could and was the fastest, on the rails and roads of Loulé and São Brás de Alportel. But José Pedro Fontes, who ended up benefiting from the puncture of Pedro Meireles to reach the second position in the general ranking, which allowed him to secure enough points to maintain the championship lead. The podium was completed by the duo Carlos Martins/Daniel Amaral.

In the FAPK South Rally Championship, the victory in the premier event of the Clube Automóvel do Algarve smiled on the duo Luís Mota/Alexandre Ramos (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VII). The pairs Ricardo Filipe/José Martins (Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VI) and José Dimas/Ricardo Barreto (Subaru Impreza) secured, respectively, 2nd and 3rd place.
