writersThe last stop in 2015 of Viagem Literária, a Porto Editora project that has brought great authors to meet their readers, in free sessions in municipal spaces in the district capitals, is aimed at Teatro da Figuras, in Faro, on December 5th, from 17 pm.

Gonçalo M. Tavares, one of the most awarded and recognized authors of contemporary Portuguese literature, and Bruno Vieira Amaral, winner of the 2015 edition of the José Saramago Literary Prize, are the guests of this session.

Driving this passage through Faro it is in the hands, as always, of journalist João Paulo Sacadura. In his baggage, he takes current themes, books and literature, and certainly the José Saramago Literary Prize.

The attribution of this prize unites the two authors, and its edition distinguished As first things, the debut novel by Bruno Vieira Amaral and, in 2005, Jerusalem, by Gonçalo M. Tavares.

This is a ninety-minute conversation that still leaves room for questions from the audience and the usual autograph sessions.

On the road since 25 April 2015, the Literary Travel began in the district of Bragança and has already passed through seven districts. the step in Faro marks the last session of 2015 of this true traveling literary festival, always riding with great authors and with an excellent turnout.

In 2016, the trip resumes in the Islands, with a first stop in Funchal, on 23 January.

Bruno Vieira Amaral was born in 1978. Graduated in Modern and Contemporary History at ISCTE, he is a literary critic, translator, and author of the Guide for 50 Characters of Portuguese Fiction and the blog Circus da Lama.

He collaborates with Ler magazine and is communication advisor for Grupo Bertrand Círculo's publishers. the first things is his first novel, and was distinguished with the Pen Clube Narrativa Prize, the Fernando Namora Literary Prize and the José Saramago 2015 Literary Prize.

Gonçalo M. Tavares was born in 1970. Since 2001, he has published books in different literary genres. His books received several awards in Portugal and abroad and gave rise, in different countries, to various artistic and academic works.

In 2010, your book Learning to Pray in the Age of Technique received the Best Foreign Book Award in France. He is one of ten writers on the Committee of the Finnegan's List 2014, European Society of Authors. It is being translated into about thirty languages.

Until September 2016, this initiative will cover another 7 district capitals and the two capitals of the Autonomous Regions, bringing writers to meet their readers, contributing to the decentralization and democratization of access to culture.

In each city, two writers will be chatting, moderated by journalist João Paulo Sacadura. The spaces where the sessions will take place will preferably be the municipal theaters, in order to allow the participation of hundreds of readers, and tickets will be free.
