Armona demolitionsThe Municipality of Olhão denies having marked several houses on the Ilha da Armona and sent letters requesting the demolition of structures in that area. During this week, markings appeared on the exterior walls of houses and letters announcing its demolition, allegedly by the City Council, something the municipality denies.

In a note sent to the newsrooms, the executive denies "any intervention in this regard" and announces that "it will trigger the legal mechanisms at its disposal against offenders."

According to the municipality, "letters were placed under the doors of the houses, supposedly coming from the Municipality of Olhão - Private Works and Urban Planning Division (whose name no longer exists) stating: "in this Municipality there were constructions that were blocking the passageway public. We went to inspect it personally and verified that one of those houses is yours. So that there is a good future for the Polis line on this island, have the space between the delineation removed”».

In a statement, the mayor António Pina guarantees that "the Municipality has no relationship with this situation" and stresses that "it will make the necessary criminal report to the competent authorities".
