VoloteaVolotea, the airline of small and medium-sized European cities, will start its operation from Portugal in the summer of 2016, connecting the Airport of Faro to three destinations in France: Bordeaux, Marseille and Nantes.

Flights will have a frequency of once or twice a week (Thursday and Sunday) from April 3rd, with fares starting at 29,99 euros (one way), including taxes (reservations in www.volotea.com).

The French company adds that, from 2 June, there will be one flight a week to and from Bordeaux (on Thursdays), the same frequency as Marseille, but in this case the flight will be on Sunday and starts on 3 June. April.

As for the connection to Nantes, it also starts on April 3rd and starts with one flight a week (Sunday) and, from June 24th onwards, it starts twice a week (Thursday and Sunday).

“We are delighted to announce the start of our operations in Portugal, where we hope to launch other destinations in the coming years. We firmly believe in the success of these three routes, which will increase ties with Nantes, Marseilles and Bordeaux, allowing more and more people to travel via direct and convenient flights between France and Portugal,” said Lázaro Ros, CEO and co-founder of Volotea.

Volotea's fleet consists of 19 Boeing 717, in a single class with 125 seats.

The airline made its first flight on April 5, 2012, departing Venice-Marco Polo Airport.

In 2016, Volotea will operate 196 routes in 72 regional capitals and medium-sized European cities from 13 countries (France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Greece, Czech Republic, Croatia, Israel, Albania, Moldova, Portugal, Malta and the United Kingdom).

Since its inception, Volotea has transported more than 6 million passengers in Europe and expects to reach 7 million this year.
