new arade bridge under constructionThe Ponte Nova do Arade, on the EN125, between Lagoa and Portimão, will be cut off to traffic this evening, from 21:00 pm and until close to 1:00 am, due to the conservation works that are taking place on that infrastructure.

GNR source told the Sul Informação that, “after the work is finished, circulation will be done alternately, in a single lane, until 7:00 am”, a time when it is expected that it will be possible to restore circulation in two lanes.

The same source added that, while the cut on the EN125 bridge is in effect, traffic will be diverted mainly "to the interior of Portimão, on both sides, either on the hospital or on the Lagoa side."

There is also the possibility of using the Via do Infante, on the Lagoa/Portimão section (or vice versa), although there is a toll charge.

As far as we know, the concessionaire of the EN125, the Rotas do Algarve Litoral consortium, has not issued any notice regarding this road cut.

O Sul Informação he tried, in the middle of this afternoon, to obtain more information about this section of the Ponte Nova do Arade, along the Algarve Coast Routes, but so far he has not received any response.
