Profile: José Carlos Barros (Portugal Ahead)

Landscape Architect by the University of Évora, lives in Vila Nova de Cacela, Vila Real de Santo António, where he was vice-president of the Municipal Council and is currently president of the Municipal Assembly. He was director of the Ria Formosa Natural Park and of the Natural Reserve of Sapal de Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo António and led the Spatial Planning Division in the Regional Coordination and Development Commission of the Algarve. Author of more than a dozen poetry and fiction books, he has seen his writing awarded all over the country. He is currently dedicated to a rural and agricultural tourism project in Vila Nova de Cacela.
