Inauguration of the Mural of the Building in the Santa Luzia District (2)A mural with the image of Santa Luzia was inaugurated this Sunday, a day dedicated to that saint, in the Santa Luzia Building, Municipal District of Loulé, as part of the “Loulé, Cidade Educadora” program and the “Dar Color to the City” project.

The mural aims to «bring art into the neighbourhood, registering in this space an image that identifies the community and, at the same time, allows opening the doors of the neighbourhood to the community in general», stresses the Câmara de Loulé.

The mural, designed by the artist Travis and the Satori Association, with a great creative and execution level, was also born from the involvement of the residents, especially the younger ones. The option for the image that was reproduced “came from a meeting with residents” and from their “expressed will”.

after Almancil, it was the turn of the “Give Color to the City” project to visit Loulé, in an initiative that, in addition to promoting graffiti artists, «searched, in a pedagogical way, to encourage a positive attitude towards urban and social space, a space of all citizens”.

The municipality also emphasizes that the initiative allowed “the creation of an open-air art gallery and, from now on, it will certainly be a crossing point for graffiti art lovers”.
