The executive councilors of Silvez unanimously approved a vote of praise for Father Carlos Manuel Patrício de Aquino, for "his important and uncompromising action in the defense and dignification of the county's historical and cultural heritage", as well as for "his friendly, intervening presence and challenging, in the construction of a fairer and more dignified council», according to Câmara de Silves.
This recognition is made following the move to Loulé of this parish priest, who for a decade was Prior of Silves and for two years Prior of São Bartolomeu de Messines and São Marcos da Serra.
The vote of praise was proposed by the PSD councilors, who highlighted in their proposal the actions carried out by Father Carlos Aquino, “among which the repair of the roof of the Cathedral of Silves, the granting of the protocol that gave rise to the Route of Cathedrals, the restoration of various sacred art pieces, the functioning of the social canteen, the inventory of the parish archives of Silves and SB messines (with the respective publication) and the activation of the local communities of Pedreira, Silves Station, Falacho, Enxerim and Poço Barreto ».
