A concert by Peter Finger at the Auditório Municipal de Lagoa, on Saturday, October 31st, at 18 pm, will close the 2nd edition of the International Guitar Festival in this Barlavento Algarve municipality, which took place in September and October.
The German musician, whose musical education began very early – his father was a conductor – was chosen to give the final show of an event that provided about a dozen concerts, with national and international artists, in different locations in Lagoa.
About Peter Finger:
Born in Weimar, in 1954, the son of a conductor father. He started studying the violin at the age of 6 and, a little later, playing the piano. Plays guitar since he was 13 years old.
His first recording was in 1973. Since then, he has been recording regularly in Germany, Italy, England and the USA.
Toured Germany, USA, Canada, Japan, England, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, Italy, Finland, Poland, Estonia and Russia and now Portugal. He has also appeared in numerous television and radio productions and authored several programs on guitar music.
From 1981 onwards, he began composing for the Symphonic Orchestra and, from 1985 onwards, for cinema and television. In 1988, he created his own music and recording label, Music Records, and produced dozens of award-winning musical works in various styles of music, such as blues, jazz and worldmusic. Since 1995, he is the editor of the magazine Akustik Gitarre.
He also won several awards throughout his career.
