cyneticumThe Cine-Teatro Louletano receives, on October 1st, at 21 pm, the show Cyneticum, as a way to celebrate World Music Day. The accordions of the Mito Algarvio Ensemble, composed by «the most prestigious and awarded (nationally and internationally) interpreters of the instrument based in the region», will present a «unique» concert, according to the Câmara de Loulé.

This is the first presentation of this show in the Algarve, after its premiere, in June this year, at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, as part of a commission for the “Próximo Futuro” program, directed by the cultural manager and programmer António Pinto Ribeiro.

According to the Câmara de Loulé, «the Algarve is a prolific region in terms of accordion players, and the sound of this free-reeded musical instrument is deeply associated with the entire musical tradition of this area of the country. The repertoire created for this concert was made from a methodology of deconstruction, construction, destroying and rebuilding several melodies, harmonies and rhythms, in order to find a perfect musical synthesis that results from the collective work and the musical universe of each of the musicians'.

“Cyneticum” is, according to the municipality, “an evocation of the Roman period that the Algarve lived in Antiquity and of which there are ethnolinguistic traces that have had an influence on the way of combining melodies. On the other hand, the recovery of some themes from the Mediterranean, Middle-East and South America are important in the conception of this show».

The Mito Algarvio Ensemble is composed by João Frade (accordion, electronics and musical direction), Emanuel Marçal (accordion and musical direction), Paulo Machado (fretless bass, accordion, electronics), João Filipe Guerreiro (accordion) and Nelson Conceição ( accordion).

The show lasts 75 minutes, is aimed at people over 6 years old, and tickets cost €8 per person.
