Open day Águas do Algarve 2015The company Águas do Algarve is going to open the doors of some of its infrastructures to the population as a way to celebrate World Water Day, which is celebrated tomorrow, Wednesday, the 1st of October.

Anyone can get to know better the path that the water takes before reaching our taps, but also how sewage is treated at the Water Treatment Plant and at the Wastewater Treatment Plant – Wastewater Treatment Plant that the company manages in the municipality of Tavira.

Both visits start at 15 pm and last around 2:30 am. The number of participants is limited, so registration is mandatory. Those interested in participating should send an email to [email protected] (Tavira Water Treatment Plant) and to [email protected] (Almargem Waste Water Treatment Plant – Tavira), according to the infrastructure who want to visit.

Here, it will be possible to observe «all the detailed procedures and steps, through which the precious water passes, before reaching our taps, as well as the entire process downstream of our sewers, so that this precious liquid can be returned to nature in the best possible way. conditions, protecting the environment», according to Águas do Algarve.

The company responsible for water supply and basic sanitation in the region carries out these initiatives with the aim of «reinforcing the message that having savings habits and more efficient devices can make a huge difference when it comes to waste and greater efficiency. in the use of water in our homes, thus contributing to a more sustainable planet».
