If you are looking for a last minute opportunity for this summer vacation, find out which are, at the moment, the cheapest tourist destinations in the world (and the most expensive ones too).

In this study released by the search engine trivago, the city of Porto stands out, which is among the main cheapest European cities during the month of August.

At the moment, there are more than 400 euros that separate staying in the cheapest tourist destination in the world from the most expensive one: sleeping in Hanoi, Vietnam, costs an average of 55 euros, while in Monaco, the most expensive destination, the weighted cost is 476 euros.

According to trivago Hotel Price Index, in Europe the most accessible location this month is Warsaw, Poland, with an average of 61 euros per night for a double room.

This is followed by Sofia (62 euros), Bucharest (68 euros), Seville (73 euros), Belgrade (74 euros) and Krakow (79 euros). Above 80 euros, but not yet top 10 of the cheapest are Madrid (84 euros), St. Petersburg (85 euros), Dresden (86 euros) and, in tenth position, in equally Porto and Brussels (93 euros).

The city of Porto has registered large increases compared to the last year – this month Invicta led an increase in hotel prices of 32,86% compared to August 2014: sleeping in Porto at that time cost only 70 euros, when currently the average cost is 93 euros.

Even so, and despite these widespread increases, Porto continues to be one of the most attractive cities for tourists in terms of quality/price.

Also in Europe, Monaco, Edinburgh, Geneva, London, Venice, Bern, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Nice and Dublin are the most expensive places to spend the night, with values ​​above 150 euros.

For those who want to travel to Africa or the Middle East, know that Luxor, in Egypt, and Zanzibar, in Tanzania, are respectively the cheapest and most expensive destinations: staying overnight in Luxor costs an average of 69 euros while in The cost of Zanzibar is 249 euros.

In Asia, Hanoi, Vietnam, is the most affordable place (55 euros) and Nord Male Atoll /Kaafu–Kaaf, in the Maldives, the most expensive, with an average cost of 461 euros.

In South and Central America, Belo Horizonte, in Brazil, is the cheapest destination (64 euros) and Palm Beach, in Aruba, as the most expensive (292 euros).

To complete this tHPI price list, and in relation to North America, Mexico City (107 euros) has the most affordable prices, although with an average of over 100 euros, and Boston is the most expensive destination , with a weighted cost of 343 euros.
