MackerelThis Friday, starting at 19:30 pm, the riverside area of ​​Fuseta will host a tasting of Algarvian mackerel. The event is part of the summer festivities of the village and precedes a night of fado, at 22 pm, with the performance of Pedro Viola, Teresa Viola, Sara Gonçalves and Inês Graça.

The tasting is part of the “Cavala Algarvia” project, financed by the PROMAR program, with the support of GAC Sotavento, and coordinated by the Center for Marine Sciences (CCMAR) of the University of Algarve.

According to the Union of Parishes of Moncarapacho and Fuseta, the event “in addition to revealing some of the biological particularities of mackerel from our coast, aims to promote its consumption and its valorization as an economic resource”.

The event will have the collaboration of chef José Domingos, from the Algarve Hotel and Tourism School (EHTA) and two original gourmet mackerel recipes will be prepared.
