The proof of the FIA Formula3 European Championship, considered the trampoline for Formula1, which last year took place in Moscow and this year should return to the Russian capital, it will be played at the Algarve International Circuit, in Portimão, between 4 and 6 September.
This will be, in fact, a real race weekend on the Algarve track, as it will also take place there for the second consecutive year, the Blancpain GT Series, as well as the National Speed Championship (Racing Weekend).
This year, the Blancpain GT Series has seven rounds, returning to the Portimão circuit, considered one of the most demanding, on the fifth lap.
In the National Speed Championship, the best GTs of today will roll from brands such as Audi, McLaren, Mercedes, BMW, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche and Nissan, which enter the track to compete in two types of series: Sprint and GT.
As for Formula3, the change was requested by the teams from the promoter of that competitive championship, due to the huge logistical effort and expenses involved in traveling to Russia. With the request to change this round, the choice fell on the Portimão circuit.
This will be the first event on the Algarve track, which opened its doors in 2008, in the championship that big names such as Lewis Hamilton and Ayrton Senna have passed through.
Between the 1st and 2nd of September, there will also be a collective test, so that teams and drivers can adapt to the track. This race will be a complement to the previously announced events, Blancpain Sprint Series and the Racing Weekend, with the national speed championship.
In order to attract families to the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve, in addition to young people up to 16 years old not paying, as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket, family packs were also created, which include accommodation and exclusive access with lunch on the circuit during the weekend.
