The interior of the municipality of Loulé will celebrate the presence of many emigrants in their lands of origin with parties in Ameixial and Querença. At Ameixial, the Ameixial Summer Fest takes place between the 14th and 16th of August and, in Querença, on the 22nd of August, the Festa dos Filhos da Terra is scheduled.
The Ameixial Summer Fest starts with a BBT Nocturne tour, on Friday, the 14th, at 21 pm. On the same night, Grupo Musical Gerações and Quina Barreiros perform on the main stage.
On Saturday, Cristiano Martins will “spread” the rhythm of Kizomba and before the performance of Jessica Portugal.
During the afternoon of Saturday and Sunday there are traditional games, including a Swedish Tournament, on Saturday at 15 pm, and a Knit Tournament on Earth, on Sunday from 14 pm. In both tournaments there are prizes for the winners.
Another point of interest at the party is the gastronomy, as it is possible to dine in the party area and «savor the best mountain grills», according to the organization.
Ameixial Summer Fest is an organization of Grupo Desportivo Ameixialense and has the support of the Parish Council of Ameixial and the Municipality of Loulé. Admissions are free.
On the 22nd of August, the Union of Parishes of Querença, Tôr and Benafim organizes another edition of the Festa dos Filhos de Querença. This event has "as main objective to bring together friends, family, lovers and supporters of Querença, natural, residents or not, in an open-air dinner at Largo da Igreja."
Dinner is scheduled for 20 pm, followed by a lively dance by accordionist Nélson Duarte and performance by Tuna Universitária Afonsina de Loulé.
During the event, for the little ones, there will be face painting and balloon modeling. Dinner is available by reservation, by calling 289 422 337.
