On July 23, from 10 am to 13 pm, the Oceanário Shuttle receives technicians from the Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina Natural Park, who will present the biodiversity of this protected area since 00.

Located on the southwest coast of Portugal, with an extension of 110 kilometers, the Natural Park corresponds to an area of sea-land interface with very specific characteristics that give it great landscape richness, including some biotopes that support a high biodiversity, both floristic and fauna.

With these initiatives, the Oceanário intends to inform and involve the populations in biodiversity conservation projects developed by governmental entities or Non-Governmental Organizations, at local, regional and national levels.

The Shuttle, a project financed by the Lisbon Oceanarium, has been traveling around the country for a decade with the mission of making the population aware of the conservation of the oceans.

More than 170 thousand Portuguese participated in activities that explore “a sea of opportunities”.

Vila Praia de Âncora, in Caminha, will be the next “port” to receive the Oceanário Shuttle, from August 4th to 8th.
