Thus, the maximum temperature in Central and Western Europe will be well above normal, reaching values close to 40ºC.

During today, July 2, in mainland Portugal, the maximum temperatures should be between 20 and 25ºC on the coast and between 25 and 30ºC in the interior.

A small increase in the maximum temperature is expected until Saturday inclusive, with temperatures reaching values of 25 to 30ºC on the coast and from 28 to 35ºC inland.

These values should remain until Tuesday, however, below those reached in the last two weekends.

The IPMA informs that as of Tuesday, there is a "high uncertainty associated with the temperature parameter", with a tendency for a gradual rise throughout the week, with a 60% probability that the temperature may exceed 40°C in the interior of the southern region.
