Interdisciplinary Duet3The DiVaM program will bring music and art, this weekend of July 11th and 12th, to the Chapel of Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe and the Fortaleza de Sagres.

The exposure seam, by Susana de Medeiros, opens at 17 pm at the Ermida, followed by the performance of the Concordis Guitar Quartet, at the same location.

On Sunday, at 18 pm, the Fortaleza de Sagres hosts the “Interdisciplinary Duet”, with Josué Nunes, on classical guitar, and visuals by Vinicius Almada.

Susana de Medeiros' exhibition will be on display until the 2nd of August and is part of the 2or3x7 visual arts cycle. In this cycle, various plastic artists are invited to intervene temporarily in the Ermida, in order to relate to the place, both in the context of assembly and in the design of the work. This is a project of Tertúlia – Associação Sócio Cultural de Aljezur.

expo susana in july invitationEm seam, a word in the English language that refers to the joining line, sewing, suture or layer, «the artist proposes to the spectator to imagine and sew a relationship between the sacred and the profane (and their rituals) in two different historical temporalities: the conception of the sacred, the rituals and community cults of the peoples who left us a very abundant megalithic legacy in the territory of the municipality of Vila do Bispo and those who built and used the Ermida».

The Concordis Guitar Quartet then presents the concert Transparencies, with a repertoire that includes composers such as Georges Bizet, Carlos Paredes, José Peixoto, M. Falla and Roland Dyens.

The Concordis Guitar Quartet was formed in 2005 and is currently made up of Eudoro Grade, João Venda, Rui Martins and Rui Mourinho, guitarists residing in the Algarve region.

According to the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve, these «are musicians of various personalities, influences and complicities, in which they emerge as a tonic concordisthe tonal beauty and sound that the four guitars can provide together. In this sense, they focus and project their musical orientation in perspectives with emphasis on the originality and diversity of the most varied musical environments».

The following day, the Fortaleza de Sagres receives the “Interdisciplinary Duet”, which proposes “a visual reading of works for guitar by master composers and disciples of the Spanish guitar and the Brazilian guitar”.

This artistic project, conceived by the Academy of Music of Tavira, brings together visual and digital compositions in motion, projected in sync, with the music performed live and acoustically by a solo guitar.

DiVaM is the program for the promotion and enhancement of the Algarve's Monuments promoted by the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve. The full program of this and other initiatives can be consulted here.
