Five competitions in the area of livestock are part of the program of FACECO – Cultural and Economic Activities Fair of the Municipality of Odemira, which will take place in S. Teotónio, on the 17th, 18th and 19th of July, in an initiative of the Municipality of Odemira.
Thus, along with the participation of dozens of companies in the county from various sectors of activity, livestock will be highlighted, as FACECO receives the 27th National Limousine Bovine Breed Contest, 20th Regional Cabra Charnequeira Contest and the 12th Regional Breed Contest Beef Holstein Friesland. The 16th Honey Contest and the 2nd edition of the Children's Honey Contest will also be promoted.
Held since 1990, FACECO brings together in the same precinct the great diversity of the largest municipality in the country, with a program full of entertainment, exhibitions and competitions of cattle, gastronomy, music and handicrafts.
Gastronomy and local products are increasingly the strong point of the fair, with several restaurants on the premises and many producers of the best flavors in the region, from honey, olive oil, cheeses, sausages, jam, arbutus and wine. Over the three days there will be tastings, presentations and showcookings.
An exhibition pavilion will be dedicated to local handicrafts, with about 30 artisans working live, with various workshops, this year based on the theme “Reuse and new objects”.
The entertainment at the venue and the shows are once again FACECO's main attraction, with many activities for all audiences, from music, theater, Alentejo sing, dance and sports.
In the music, the performance of the groups “A Moda Mãe” and “The Covers” (July 17, 21:30 pm), the band “O'queStrada” (July 18, 22:30 pm) and the artist Agir (July 19, 21:30 pm) .
On the three days of the fair, there will be artistic performances around the venue, equestrian entertainment and children's entertainment for the youngest, with games and an inflatable area. For young people there will be a Lan Party tournament and a skate ramp.
