Jorge BotelhoThe Algarve Intermunicipal Community – AMAL will launch the Regional Support Network for Economic and Social Development. The project, which aims to «affirm the Algarve as a competitive region», is presented on July 8, at NERA's headquarters, in Loulé, at 10 am.

According to AMAL, the network intends to make the Algarve a region «that bets on a diversified and innovative economy, providing a network of entities dedicated to supporting economic and social development, capable of boosting job creation and enhancing strategic opportunities»

The project was approved in PO Algarve 21 and the creation of this network of support partnerships «intends to implement an adequate response system to the needs of entrepreneurs and local managers, through a new institutional model of coordination and cooperation between agents operating in the territory , betting on a logic of proximity».

AMAL states in a statement that "it intends to structure the offer of services and support for economic development, providing an enabling and suitable environment for different audiences, as well as strengthening partnerships that stand out for innovation and economic differentiation".

Jorge Botelho, president of AMAL, considers that «in view of the current socio-economic panorama, it is essential to create and promote a strong identity for the Algarve, which asserts itself as a territory of support for multi-sector business development and with the main objective of building a competitive regional economy in national and international markets».

Made up of various entities and organizations, the Regional Network for Support to Economic and Social Development will be coordinated and managed by AMAL and counts on the participation and involvement of the Algarve's municipalities, in addition to the support of more than two dozen entities linked to various sectors of the business fabric in the region.
