Although these are considered “urgent and welcome” works, Botelho recalls that there is the biggest problem of any other requalification of the EN 125, which is not happening yet.

Jorge Botelho, commenting the answers given by Infraestruturas de Portugal to the Sul Informação considers that "it is not enough to say that work is taking place in these three variants, there is a bigger problem which is all the other requalification of the EN 125".

Jorge Botelho says that “from Vila do Bispo to Olhão Poente there is still nothing under construction and the other variant Olhão Nascente/Vila Real de Santo António, which we said was extremely urgent, and which was excluded from the PPP contract and included in an intervention to be made by Infraestruturas de Portugal, there is nothing about it. And this is a road that is very degraded and has a lot of traffic», he considers.

The president of AMAL and mayor of Tavira recalls that although Infraestruturas de Portugal says that the construction works are proceeding at a good pace and in compliance with the established work plan, «the works in these three variants are taking place within time, but late. Because they are on time, after the reprogramming of the works», he concluded.
