The Algarve Hospital Center has just updated this morning the information on the victims of the accident with the bus that last night killed three people and injured 32. Eight patients are currently hospitalized in the Algarve, one of whom, a 64-year-old woman, has a «very reserved prognosis».
According to João Ildefonso, team leader of the Emergency Department of the Hospital de Faro, during the night, “the CHA treated 31 patients who were victims of the accident. The Hospital of Faro attended 11, SUB Loulé assisted 8, SUB Albufeira received 11 and Hospital de Portimão received one patient».
Regarding the condition of the victims, the doctor added that all patients treated at the SUBs of Loulé and Albufeira have already been discharged and there are «eight hospitalized, seven in Faro and one in Portimão, mainly trauma victims».

Of the remaining wounded, all free of danger, «three [in Faro] will remain hospitalized” and the patient who is in Portimão, admitted to the Polyvalent Intensive Care Unit, with a chest injury, will also stay at the Hospital, despite being free of danger.
João Ildefonso also said that just yesterday, at the scene, "psychological support was given to a 3-year-old child whose mother died" and who is accompanied by his father, and that a patient was transferred to Hospital de São José, in Lisbon , “for presenting a maxillofacial trauma, a specialty that we don't have in the CHA”.
O balance of the accident, so far, is of three dead Dutch tourists and 32 wounded, one of them the Portuguese driver.
The accident with the Frota Azul bus that was making a transfer between the airport of Faro and Lagos, with stops at Armação de Pera and Praia da Rocha, took place at 23:02, due to a skidding followed by a rollover, near the Paderne junction of Via do Infante, towards Faro-Portimão.
