The youth guitar group «Farrobinhas» performed at the Airport of Faro, last Friday, as part of the commemorations of World Environment Day.
The group of young guitarists from Bordeaux was invited by ANA Aeroportos to animate the passenger terminal, in what was the band's fourth concert.
Music was not the only contribution that the seven young people who are part of «Farrobinhas», aged between 7 and 14, made to the environment, on the day dedicated to it. On Friday, the young musicians delivered a baby owl, which they called Farrobinha, which was found disoriented in the middle of a road, by Manuel Nascimento, near Bordeira, to the RIAS – Center for the Recovery and Investigation of Wild Animals, located in Olhão. , in Faro.
"We hope that he grows up very healthy and that he is released to live in freedom, as soon as possible," said the members of the musical group, in a press release.
The members of the Farrobinhas are all guitar students of the musician Mauro Amaral and have classes in Bordeira, in the parish of Santa Bárbara de Nexe. Since its creation in September 2014, they have performed live on four occasions.
Its debut took place at the 6th Motard Convívio de Bordeira of the Motard Group, GM Os Indomáveis, in the first month of its existence, followed by its presence in a solidarity-based food-raising show that took place last December, in Bordeira.
On the 25th of April, they were invited by the Parish Council of Santa Bárbara de Nexe to open the commemorative show for the celebrations of the carnation revolution, at the headquarters of the Council. They were now invited to work at the Airport of Faro, “which is a case of saying that, for these young people, the sky is the limit”.
